Sewing Class Fall 2015

Nine girls, ages 9 to 13, dove into sewing with me during a very rewarding semester for all of us. We approached the technique of sewing in a supportive studio environment with a huge emphasis on design. The students learned through trial and error. They draped, pinned, worked and reworked, until each of them had at least one outfit to wear in a fashion show at the end of the semester.  They used fresh materials, up-cycled garments, and most especially materials that would otherwise be considered trash.
